The alarm didn’t ring
Morning Winner rings through iOS AlarmKit, so it needs your permission to schedule alarms.
- If the scoreboard shows ALARMS BLOCKED, tap Open Settings, or go to Settings → Morning Winner and allow Alarms.
- Check the alarm’s toggle is on and the days are right in Your kick-offs. The scoreboard shows ARMED and the next kick-off time when it’s scheduled.
- AlarmKit alarms ring even in Silent mode and Focus, so those aren’t the problem.
- Still nothing? Open the app once after updating iOS or restoring from a backup. That re-schedules your alarms.
“No mic. No match.” (microphone denied)
The challenge has to hear you, so the microphone is required. Tap Open Settings on the challenge screen, or go to Settings → Morning Winner → Microphone and turn it on.
Speech recognition denied or unavailable? You can still win. The challenge switches to loudness-only mode: hold your shout above the target for 3 seconds. Allow Speech Recognition in Settings to go back to word checking. Audio is always processed on your iPhone (see privacy).
“Mic won’t start” means another app is using the microphone. Close it (calls, voice memos, music apps) and tap Try again.
My shout doesn’t count
- You need both: the right words and enough volume. The dashed line on the challenge screen is the target (85 dB by default).
- Too hard or too easy? Change the Shout threshold in Settings. Test your lungs there shows how loud you actually get.
- Say the whole phrase clearly: LET’S F*CKING GO, or LET’S GO in clean mode. Words light up as they’re heard. “Wrong words” means it heard something else.
- Pro users with a custom phrase: shorter, distinct words recognise best.
I pressed Stop and it rang again
That’s the point. iOS always shows a Stop button, so Morning Winner keeps backup alarms: if you stop without winning, BED gets a rematch in 60 s, plus safety-net alarms a few minutes later. They’re all cancelled the moment you win the shout. Tap I’m up on the alarm to go straight to the challenge.
The match window is 10 minutes by default. If it passes without a win, BED takes the match and your scoreboard says so. You can change the window and the backup interval in Settings.
Restore purchases
Bought Pro on another iPhone or reinstalled the app? Go to Settings → Restore purchases in the app while signed in with the same Apple ID. You’ll see PRO RESTORED. WELCOME BACK., or NOTHING TO RESTORE if that Apple ID has no active subscription.
If a purchase went through but Pro isn’t active, tap Restore. To manage or cancel a subscription, go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Widgets or Watch show old scores
Widgets update after each match and when the app opens. iOS sometimes delays refreshes: open Morning Winner once to push the latest score. For Apple Watch, keep the Watch paired and nearby, then open the app on both devices. Data syncs directly between your iPhone and Watch, with no account or cloud.
